WHAT ARE GOOGLE'S FREE SEARCH RESULTS?

The websites that you see on the top and side are websites that pay for being there.

The other websites are websites that are there; the organic search results. If your website is ranked first on a specific keyword, then y for free. You can imagine that you

will attract a lot of visitors there, and that you will also get more sales.

So it's worth a lot to get high in Google's free – organic - search results.

GOOGLE FRIENDLY WEBSITE

Not able to code? Good!

Do not try it yourself and use a ready-to-use Content Management System like WordPress . This is a free system for building and managing a website.

It is very important that you use a Google Friendly CMS (such as WordPress), since the code of WordPress is optimized for the search engines, and Google can easily index

these types of websites.

The basis of a website is very important to get higher in Google. We will continue to build from the base.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO RANK FOR?

I regularly receive the following mail in my mailbox:

"I want to score high in Google, how do I do that !? "

This is of course a very broad question (which is almost impossible to answer).

If I answer with "what do you want to be found" on , I often get back "on as many words as possible".

You obviously have nothing to do with that.

Imagine you are a plumber in Paris and you are number 1 on the word "plumber" . Someone from Australia can come to your website, but how big is the chance that someone from

Australia will hire a plumber from Paris?

It will bring you much more if you rank on "Plumber Paris" .

So think carefully about which relevant keywords you want to be found. By using the Google Keyword Planner you can see how many times certain keywords are searched for and

see how popular those search terms are.

MAKE YOUR WEBSITE THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY

Google loves large websites. Websites that are bursting with information and that are leading.

That may sound a bit exaggerated, but it is true. It is becoming increasingly important to have a so-called 'authority' website; an authority on the internet.

You do not do this by registering all sorts of separate domain names and creating websites that contain about three or four pages.

You do this by regularly blogging , so that your website is continuously provided with new pages.

REGULAR BLOGGING

Google loves content. The more content there is on your website, the better.

And the more regular you get with new content on your website, the more Google will keep your website.

It is therefore advisable to start a blog and keep it up to date by writing new articles .

Of course, these articles must be related to the subject of your website. Look at questions that your target audience is in, and answer them via your blog.

Do not know how to make a good article and what you should take into account? Use these 5 handy tips to write a good article .

BUT ONE PAGE PER SEARCH TERM

If you know which search terms you want to be found on, do not make dozens of pages for the same search term.

Create one page per search term and optimize this page for this search term.

ARTICLES OF 1000+ WORDS

But few people do it, and here you can outwit the competition.

Place articles of more than 1000 words. Where in the past you could still rank well on Google with articles of 300 words, that is now a thing of the past.

Try to write articles of at least 1000 words, and make good, comprehensive articles here. Like this article. As you can see, this is not an article that has just been written

in half an hour, but it contains a lot of time and energy. At the moment this article counts 1700 words.

The better your content is, the higher you will score in Google.

OPTIMIZE PAGES FOR A SEARCH TERM

If you want to go higher in Google with a page, you will have to optimize it per search term.

Example: with this page I want to be found on ' website ranking ', and that is the search term on which I optimize this page.

I do this on the basis of the following things:

SEARCH TERM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TITLE

Relevance is important. By placing the search term (on which you want to be found) at the beginning of the title, the relevance for Google (and the visitor) is greater, and

your website will most probably be higher in Google.

This also applies, of course, to the Title tag (which will appear in Google).

ONLY THE SEARCH TERM IN THE URL

Here too, relevance is important. A nice trick to take advantage of here is to just put the search term in your URL. So for example https://www.example.com/ website-ranking.

OPTIMIZE IMAGES FOR THE SEARCH TERM

Google is smart, but not yet so smart that it can 'see' what there is to 'see' on an image. For this you can help Google by optimizing the images for Google .

PLACE .GIF'S FOR MORE INVOLVEMENT

This will not directly result in more visitors coming from Google, but for more involvement.

Such a .gif is much more striking, and this will make the visitor stand still more quickly on your page, and have more interest in the text. This makes the visitor more

likely to click through on your website.

PROCESS SEARCH TERM IN THE META DESCRIPTION

Just like in the Title tag, it is important that you include the search term “website ranking” in your META description .

The META description is the two lines of text that you see below the URL in the Google search results. You can also determine the Title tag and the META description via the

Yoast SEO Plugin.

RETRIEVE SEARCH TERMS IN THE TEXT

Of course, you must also include the search term in the text of your article.

Be careful, however, that you do not get the search term too often (and not too little). A good 'keyword density' (the amount of your search term in your text) is between 1

and 3-4 percent.

PROCESS SEARCH TERM IN HEADER

Headers are not only important for the structure of your page (they make your page transparent), they are also important for Google.

A header indicates that something is”important”. If you include the search term in a header, it indicates an extra piece of value to the search engines.

Do not do it too much, only if it is relevant.

WRITE SHORT PARAGRAPHS, USE WHITE SPACE

In general, texts are not really read on the internet, but more 'scanned'.

Visitors want to scan texts to see if there is anything interesting in between. Here you can help the visitor by writing short paragraphs - just like on this page - resulting

in a lot of white space; what is easy on the eye, so that the visitor will not click on 'Previous'.

MAKE IT IMMEDIATELY CLEAR WHAT THE PAGE IS ABOUT (WILL THE VISITOR BE HELPED WITH HIS / HER PROBLEM?)

If someone comes to your website via Google, the visitor never reads from top to bottom.

The visitor will first 'scan' to see if this page is what he / she was looking for.

That is why it is important that you immediately make clear what this page is about. You can do this by putting the search term as close as possible to the beginning of the

text, and by using an image that shows it and is at the top of the text, as in this article.

CREATE INTERNAL LINKS

Do you use a word in a text that is a focus search term on another page in your website? Then link internally . An internal link is a link on a page of your website, which

refers to another page on your website.

This is useful for visitors; they can - if they want to know more about this word - simply click on it, and it's good for Google.

PLACE EXTERNAL LINKS

When necessary and relevant, you do well to occasionally place an external link.

An external link is a link that refers to another website, not to your website - such as an internal link.

BEING VALUABLE

The most important of all: share valuable information.

If you share good, valuable information, the visitor will start to appreciate you, and Google will also do this.

TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION!

Use these tips today, and you'll see that you'll see a rise in the number of visitors from Google in a short time.

The longer you wait to apply this information, the longer it will take for your website to go up in Google, and the fewer visitors you will get out of it.

If you have read these 5 tips, take immediate action and apply these tips.

Good luck!
